Lil' Hiker

LL and I really enjoy hiking, but have not been able to go since the arrival of the little magnolia. So I used the power of the internet and ebay to get a really cool child carrier backpack so we could all go out as a family. It was a lot of fun and Maggie had a blast filling the woods with quacking. The pack did really well, but my body was not ready and I am beat. Maggie must have realized when I was getting tired because she would pat me on the shoulder to urge me on whenever I started to slow down.

Nothing could be more fun that spending time with my two girls!

Forward Facing

Now that Maggie is one year old and is over twenty pounds, we were able to turn her car seat around so she is facing forward. She loves looking forward and it is so much fun for us to be able to turn around and grab those toes. Here are some pics.

Cake Time

Here are some pics of Maggie being introduced to the wonderful world of sugar. She didn't know what to think about the whole thing as first, but she soon got down to business.

The big cake for everyone

Birthday Pics

I am finally getting around to editing some of the birthday pics (removing red-eye, etc.). Here are a few I cleaned up today that I thought you would enjoy. Many thanks to our neighbor Neil for taking these pics while we were consumed with the festivities.

Birthday Party Prep

It is hard to believe that our little Maggie is almost one year old. LL and I are getting really excited about her upcoming birthday party. It is going to be extremely casual, but we are planning on having a ton of people over and grilling out (what can I say I love me some grilled hot dogs). In preparation, we went out and bought a lot of the party supplies. She is going to have a Winnie the Pooh party, so we had to get the Pooh plates, cups, etc, etc. We also found one other treat we couldn't pass up (see pic).

Da Da

Maggie said her first word yesterday. LL was in her rooming changing her diaper and I was getting our stuff ready to go swimming. I walked into the room and she looked up at me and said "Da Da". It was so awesome and we were both totally floored. Needless to say I am very proud that I was chosen as her first word.

Our little girl has turned into quite the adventurer. She is always doing something: climbing, crawling, eating, you name it. She has been so fun lately, and LL and I have been having such a good time with her. Here is a pic of her climbing on her high-chair, just look at that tongue.

Swimmin

We took Maggie to the pool yesterday and she absolutely loved it. She was all over the place, no fear what-so-ever. She is going to love the pool, just like her mom did when she was a little kid. It was soo much fun, we all had a blast.
