Goodbye 06 - Hello 07

Thought from 2006

As I look back on 2006, I wanted to share something that God has shown me lately that has made a huge impact on my life. As many of you know (esp. my friend Michael) in the past I have spent a lot of time focusing on my desire to have a deeper walk with Christ. I was constantly examining my relationship with Him and would work myself into a tizzy wondering what I needed to do to draw nearer. Recently God spoke to me with a simple message ... "worship me." It has taken some time for this truth to sink in, but I am learning more and more how to apply it everyday. Now whenever I feel that desire to walk deeper and or feel the need to start examining my relationship with Christ, I stop what I am doing and just worship Him. I can not tell you how much this has meant and I feel closer to Christ than I have in a long time.

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks."
- John 4:23

Desire for 2007

As 2007 rolled around I made my standard set of New Year's resolutions: to eat better, get in shape, and to do better about living on a budget. However, my number one desire for 07 is the following:

One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
- Psalm 27:4
